ABOUT

Southlands is a family run home and our aim is to ensure that our residents live a full, active, interesting, useful, dignified and private life, in a secure, happy and loving environment. We pride ourselves on person centred care and hire and train our staff with this always in our minds.

We endeavour to provide as much personal space as a resident wishes thus recognising and respecting that all of us like to be alone occasionally.

Our carefully followed COVID-19 policies have meant that we have zero recorded cases to date. All of our staff are tested weekly and so far, none have had a positive result. Our residents are tested once per month, unless in hospital, where they must be tested before they come back to the home. If you would like more information on our detailed processes, please get in touch and we will be happy to provide it to you.

Sylvia Winterbottom MBE

Owner

After receiving an MBE for her services to nursing, Sylvia felt compelled to found Southlands in 1988, with her late husband George.

Even now, into her 80's, she still attends daily and continues to care for her residents with the same gumption as she did 34 years ago.
